ALE
AvidLogExchange is the application that converts film to tape trasfer logs as well as 24P down conversions. The .ALE format is the fomat of the ASCII (text file) that can be imported into Avid editing systems. The PDF document below describes the ALE format so that other logging or database programs can export Avid compatible files.
This is the latest version of the ALE Specification and includes all fields for versions 10.x and 3.x of Avid Xpress DV, Avid Xpress, Avid Media Composer, Avid Film Composer, Avid Symphony and Avid Symphony Universal.
